Commented on Softened Spine

Skied over the past two days and my whole body was sore and tired, but this little sweet practice literally revived and renewed me 💖 Loved the gradual yet thorough warm up of the spine with endless undulations and cobras and locusts (they have somehow become my firm favorites since I started practicing on this studio) before we tackled the deeper backbends. Floor bow and camels all felt incredible today but the biggest discovery was actually updog with toes tucked - for the first time I really felt my pelvis and thighs really sinking to the mat while my heart proudly lifting up and shining straight ahead - maybe this will soon become one of my firm favorites too!

The 50 mins just flew by and before I even realized it, shavasana was upon us. I was like “that’s it? I want more!” 😆 Agree with some of the other comment that it was almost hypnotizing…and one important (and random) discovery today - I could finally press my big toe and pinky toe into the mat while keeping the middle three toes somewhat up. First time it happened! And made me think when the Metamorphosis started I thought that was simply humanly impossible. What a change nine months make 🥰

First full length class of 2022 and I wasn’t sure how it would go as I was a wobbly tree in my last class of 2021 😅 but it turned out amazing 💖 I felt so light and steady in the one-legged balances that I felt like an eagle gliding across the sky without flapping its wings…and I carried with me the most important lesson of 2021 - use the breath to soothe, feel, and witness the natural unfolding of my body whenever there is discomfort - and my camel gradually opened up to a proud arch where I felt such deep sensations. So grateful to start my new year with all these amazing feelings 💕

Commented on Grounded in Simplicity

Just came back from a 10-day vacation and wanted to ease back into practice with this little sweet simple class. My body was stiff as hell and everything was a mess at the beginning (even fell out of my first tree poses), but by the end of the tree pose repetitions I was a lot steadier (doing it over and over again really grounded me) and by the end of the class I felt so good in the supported bridge I turned it into a wheel. Can’t wait to get back into my practice routine again!

I agree with Mary that the past 8 months have been a magical magical transformation, esp. for the juicy heart openers. The fallen triangles, wild things and wheels all felt so natural and so open today (I even did one extra round of wheel because it just felt too good!). Lovely little strong flow for days my mind needs decluttering!

Such a yummy practice! Went skiing two days ago and my hammies and the back of my calves have been sore ever since - but now the juices are flowing again through them! In fact I felt so good that I even did pigeon (my “favorite” pose) active, passive and mermaids on my own at the end - mermaids had never been such a breeze before and I held it for 5 breaths on each side steadily and could have held it longer. Amazing 🥰 thanks Meghan!

Such a juicy practice! No peak poses, no destinations, just a sneaky little snake swirling and crawling and having some fun along the way. My spine felt so nourished that I added two yummy camels and high cobras on my own at the end 💖

Something clicked…in the seated compass pose when Meghan said it was not so much about stretching the leg straight, but rather feeling the activation, the push and pull between hand and feet, and the suctioning in of the arm bones - and the opening comes naturally as you nourishes it with breath. It was magical…I entered into Visvamitrasana with such ease on both sides both times, which had never ever happened before. Feeling strong, grounded, content and grateful all at once now 😌 thanks Meghan!

From the very first cobra I felt the groove…I was so thoroughly and deeply engrossed in every single moment through the class that it felt like all a meditation for me. My body was like a river twisting and turning, expanding and contracting as if it had a soul of its own…such beautiful sensations. And for the first time ever my pigeon was able to take a timid first step towards flying thanks to Meghan’s genius cueing :) Grateful and will come back for more!

Came back to practice after my birthday weekend away and couldn’t have asked for a better class - there’s a little bit of everything (including my “favorite” locusts haha) but mostly heavenly yummy and sometimes quite unexpected side body and hip openings. And agree with Rebecca below that it’s so liberating letting expectations and goals for outcomes go. Lightness brings expansiveness…and my bird of paradise today is spreading her wings proudly to the sky :)
