This was one of the best practices of my life!! I discovered yoga at sixteen. These last two new classes, near my forty-five, made me feel -as I've never felt before- the importance of letting my body free and trusting her/him (integrating all feminine and masculine qualities), as well as every movement chosen to express whatever my spirit needs to express. So deep the feeling was that at the end of Awaken The Muse I visualized a huge snake staring at me. Afterwards, I was amazed at discovering -just the Year of the Snake- that Kundalini is represented with this wild being. Dear Meghan, you've put into words what I'm feeling lately: "...there can be times of dormancy where it feels that nothing is going to happen or that nothing happens, but beneath the surface there's always something happening". The process of reconnection to my heart is taking time to evaluate carefully what I've done with my life so far, what I want to keep on doing and what I don't. I loved the idea of "a personal university designed exquisitely just for us". After years of academic and institutional life, I'm convinced that's respect for our individuality —in whatever way it needs to be expressed— is exactly what we need to preserve most in order to stay connected to our hearts and live in freedom.
