Commented on Create Beauty

What a great and introspective class! I think I never asked myself how I create beauty, and my first instinct was to say other people certainly create more beauty than I do. But then I reflected, and I thought of how my principles are kindness, compassion, creating community and how this can be viewed as creating beauty. So this practice certainly helped open up another perspective for myself, on myself. Thank you so much 🧡

I truly did not know how this practice would turn out, as I am still a bit sick. But it was truly magical. Such a unique way to open the heart, I enjoyed every bit of movement in this class. As a rather rational person, the focus on the heart is very inspiringvfor me. I have always enjoyed heart opening practices, but reflecting more on 'the wisdom of the heart' and when/how I rely on it, is a very good practice...

My dance did not feel very graceful today, but mostly bc I have a cold and difficulty breathing... Nevertheless, doing this practice was out of self-love, bc even when sick, my body craves some gentle movement and opening. Beautiful practice!

Such a beautiful practice. I very much enjoyed the expansion / contraction, particularly with the side plank bow! The compass metaphore definitely invites a lot of reflection and journaling :)

Beautiful practice! I loved the work towards the tree-legged bow pose - so hard, but it feels so good :)

I so much needed this class today! The past few days, I felt a lot of anger and helplessness, related to the political developments in my own country, but also many others. I knew that this practice, your calm voice, the focus on feelings and sensations, would bringe me some calm, so that I can (hopefully) focus again on how to make the world a kinder and friendlier place, at least in the small/local ways that I might be capable to do so.

This became the first class of the new year, and it's a perfect transition into the new theme; I usually tend to pick the hard classes, and self-love for me definitely means leaning into the softer parts of the practice, of feelings; taking the time to let things grow, not always pushing them.

What has been really positive for me this month was not only to start journalling again, but also that I use the questions you provided to discuss with my partner, and thereby building deeper connection - one of my (our) major aims for 2025. With two small kids, it is not always easy to find the time as a couple; so this has been a great first start/opportunity :)

Happy new year, dear Meghan and dear community!
